Feast -

Poison sting -

Rage (ultimate) -

1.GoS

3.Добираем до 4х GoS

5.Ogre Axe (+10 Strength, 1000$)

6.Mithril Hammer (+24 dmg, 1825$)

8.Заканчивам Power threads покупкой Boots of elvenskin (+5 aligity, 450$) и Gloves of Haste (+15% attack speed, 610$)

Blades of Attack + Broad sword + Upgrader$ = 650 + 1250 + 1500 = 3400+35 dmg, +11% Critical strike

Crystalys + Demon Edge $ = 3400 + 2600 = 6000

+85 dmg, +11% critical strike,

Ogre Axe.

Section A - The Introduction

1. Preface

This is my second guide in the forums. I chose to write a Vengeful spirit guide because it plays a very important role in team clashes. Vengeful spirit starts the battle by swapping heroes into her group of teammates and she has the best ranged stun. Playing vengeful spirit is not really difficult, you just have to keep some points in mind and you can play smoothly with her. Throughout the whole game, Vengeful spirit almost never dies and she’s very dangerous in 1 versus 1 situation as she wins most of the time.

As many of you would like to play her as a solo-type hero killing hero,I find play her more of a support type. You can don’t follow my guide and stick to your own way of hero-killing vengeful spirit, but I tell you my vengeful spirit kills just as well as yours does and at the same time, she supports well too.

2. Featuring Shandelzare Silkwood,Vengeful Spirit

Summon Shandelzare Silkwood, Vengeful Spirit

250 5

Shandelzare was a Warden, betrayed and killed by Motred who she trusted in. With her dying breathe, she prayed Elune to grant her a chance to avenge her death. Though her body died, her relentless spirit lives on. Her presence is an example for her allies, while her enemies fear her determination. Using powers of the spirit words, she can blast her enemies with a pure magical energy and reverse positions with others.

4. Skills Descriptions

Magic Missile [C]

A magic missile is thrown at an enemy unit, causing damage. Stuns for 1.75 seconds.

Level 1 - Deals 100 damage | 95 mana cost

Level 2 - Deals 175 damage | 110 mana cost

Level 3 - Deals 250 damage | 125 mana cost

Level 4 - Deals 325 damage | 140 mana cost

Cool down duration - 9 second at all levels

Effect - Single target

Author's Remarks-

Storm bolt's evil twin. Its the best ranged stun in the game as it deals damage and stun to your target while you hit it constantly without having the trouble to move forward and attack. It consumes average mana and has a low cool down so you could use it again and again when attacking.

Terror [T]

Shandelzare lets loose a wicked cry, terrorizing nearby enemy units. Their armor and damage is reduced.

Level 1 - Reduces base armor by 2 and damage by 5% | 40 mana cost

Level 2 - Reduces base armor by 3 and damage by 10% | 40 mana cost

Level 3 - Reduces base armor by 4 and damage by 15% | 40 mana cost

Level 4 - Reduces base armor by 5 and damage by 20% | 40 mana cost

Cool down duration - 15 seconds at all levels

Effect - Area of effect of about 500 range

Author's Remarks-

A very useful skill in team clashes as it not only reduces your enemies’ amour, it also reduces their damage by 20% which helps a lot in surviving. Although not frequently used, its very important middle to late game whereby pushes and gangbangs occurs. Very useful for pushes as it your creeps will have a greater advantage against your enemy's creeps. Not suitable for early game as you need the mana for magic missile and early game you don't push that well.

Command Aura [D]

Increases nearby alliess' damage.

Level 1 - 12% damage.

Level 2 - 20% damage.

Level 3 - 28% damage.

Level 4 - 36% damage.

Cool down duration - none

Effect - Passive, area of effect

Author's Remarks-

A lot of people is confused whether to learn command aura or stats early game as in early game command aura doesn't really add a lot of damage and stats could be a better choice. But I’ll explain later in the guide that command aura is a better choice for vengeful than stats. Command aura is one of the best aura middle to late game where you and your allies go for a certain push together and they will definitely benefit for your allies and creeps. Together with other auras such as trueshot aura to bring a better effect.

Nether Swap [W]

Instantaneously swaps positions with a target unit.

Level 1 - 600 range | 100 mana cost

Level 2 - 900 range | 150 mana cost

Level 3- 1200 range | 200 mana cost

Cool down duration - 45 seconds at all levels

Effect - Single target

Author's Remarks-

This skill changes you and your target's location when used, it may looked as nothing special but it actually possesses a very important purpose in offense. There will be a mini guide on how to use this skill properly in the later part of my guide.

- Explanation

Magic missile is a must learn skill for Vengeful Spirit and therefore you must learn it as soon as possible. Why terror at level 10 onwards? It is not as useful in early game because you need the mana for magic missile and you don't push that well in early game, so save terror for middle game onwards. Terror at middle game as team pushes should start occurring and terror is a great boost to clashes and pushes. ax out command aura as soon as possible as it provides damage for you and your creeps for early game kills. The issue about Magic missile and attribute bonus will be clarified later in the guide, so don’t worry.

- Explanation

This build is for a solo playing but I don't use it as DotA is a team game, not really a game where you solo and win the game. I only recommend this if you're playing public games and in clan matches or in-houses its better to follow skill build 1. Terror at the end of the game as Attribute Bonus serves a much better purpose in solo-ing.

Power treads recipe Scroll [Power treads]

Once you pick Vengeful Spirit, straight away buy a ring of regeneration because you will always need it throughout the game until late game as you can't afford to spend time walking back to the fountain to heal. After that buy some clarity potions and get to your lane, I would prefer the side lanes as usually the mid lanes contain some nukers and try to solo if you're playing a pubbie. If you randomed Vengeful Spirit I suggest you to buy a Sobi mask and a ring of regeneration as you’ll need the Sobi mask for guinsoo later on.

Try not to get back to the fountain unless you're dying with less than 100 health left, even so, spam all your mana on your creeps and head towards your fountain. If everything goes on smoothly, you’ll get around 2 to 3k gold at level 9 and you can complete 2 wraith bands and your power treads there.

Farming -

Farm wisely and always hold on to the alt button to monitor both your enemy creeps and your own creeps’ health. If you see a red life creep on your enemy's side, aim for the kill. This applies to your own creeps, if you see them with red health, try to kill them before your enemy kills them and get the gold and experience. But take note that killing your enemy's creep is more important than killing your own creep.

Harassing -

Since you’re a ranged hero, you can harass the opponent hero pretty easily. Stand with the enemy necromancer and always try to get a few hits on the enemy hero if he tries to get near to leech experience or farm. If there’s only about a enemy creep left with the hero, you can magic missile and start attacking it .Your own creeps will kill the last creep left in no time so you don’t need to worry about it attacking you. The enemy hero will start to run, or at least disable or stun you if he can before he runs. If he’s dying, swap him with nether swap and try to get your kill.

Do not continue to hit the hero if there’s more than 1 creep attacking you as you’ll suffer a lot of damage unless you’re sure you can kill the enemy hero.

Oblivion Staff [Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse]

Blades of Attack

Crystalys Recipe Scroll [Crystalys]

After your power treads, head for your Eul's scepter immediately. Eul's Scepter provides you the mana and mana regeneration for your terror and Magic missile on you can spam terror on every creep wave and have enough mana to use multiple times of magic missile when hero chasing. After Eul's scepter of divinity, do not complete oblivion staff until you've used the entire cyclone charges as they are very important in the pushes and gangbangs. Head on for monkey king bar first. Once you complete your Guinsoo’s scythe of Vyse, you can start to kill almost all heroes in 1 on 1 situations. For a bit more information on killing strategies you can refer to the section on strategies where I will include all about killing. Here is where many pushes occur in the game but the center lane is a more common push, if there's trouble in the middle lane, go help, your presence will boost the morale of your teammates by a lot as your magic missile, nether swap, polymorph is very important for gangbangs and your terror is needed for pushes.

If there's no need for your help, you can just stay back in your lane, push and farm slowly which will benefit you even more than pushing in the center lane. If there's more than 2 heroes in your lane, call for help, you're not a Crystal maiden or Sandking who can handle multiple heroes at one time easily, use your Eul's scepter if you think you can get a double kill, if not just call for aid or just stay back.

After your guinsoo,go for burize do-kyanon for your damage by conpleting crystalys first since you already have 2 good disables.

Tips on using Eul's Scepter of Divinity -

Use it when you suffer a gangbang, stun the stunner or disabler, or if there is another stunner, use your cyclone and escape with nether swap. If there's two heroes, terror and cyclone the stunner, leave the other hero behind. You must kill the hero quickly and that shouldn't be much of a problem as he is under the status of terror and your magic missile and attacks could have killed him in no time. When the stunner has dropped down, he will definitely attack you unless he's too afraid of you. Attack him unless you're under the orange life zone, he will stun or disable you can continue to attack you, you attack back and magic missile him and get the double kill. I won't advise cycloning the hero two times, it's quite wasteful as cyclone could be used for other more important purposes.

Pushing -

Vengeful Spirit servers an important role in pushing as the terror really helps a lot, you and your allies will be clearing waves and waves of creeps in no time. Besides, you have your Eul’s scepter of divinity to provide essential mana and mana regeneration for the spamming of terror. Still, it’s always difficult to farm and push at the same time but try to get some creep kills per wave, at least a creep kill.

The game should end soon with a vengeful spirit on the team, always try to stick with at least one or if you can, two teammates to help pushing in the various lanes and this is the critical moment to see which side will win the game. If your team continues to push and defend well, you’ll win the game eventually. Never put yourself into a situation where you get stuck in gangbangs, a 2 to 3 second stun or disable with a few heroes whacking you will definitely result in your death and bring unhappiness in yourself and your teammates. So, try to co-ordinate well with your teammates and the victory is all yours.Complete your burize do-kyanon and you'll be wiping out 400+ damage criticals and with your fast attack speed you clear creeps fast and kill other heroes fast.Eye of skadi should be your last choice or either that go for butterfly or if you need,a linken's sphere would help alot.

10. Strategies

Points to note -

- Polymorph from Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse has no casting time, meaning you will cast it on your target instantly.

- Magic missile has a 0.5 second casting time and you’ve to wait for the bolt to hit the target before he gets the effect of magic missile.

- Terror and nether swap has no casting time, same as polymorph, they will be cast instantly.

- The area of effect range of terror and command aura is the same, 450 AOE.

If you’re facing only 1 hero -

If you’re facing heroes who uses skill which have a mini cast time, always use your polymorph first as it has no cast time at all. I’m sure you’ve seen heroes who deal stun or disable while you magic missile together, this will result in wasting your magic missile so therefore you must polymorph first. Roughly estimate after hitting a couple of time at the enemy and magic missile on the 2.5 or 3 second mark of polymorph, this will result in stunning the enemy and therefore he cannot have enough time to retaliate.

Strategy against 1 hero -

Always use your terror first as it has no casting time and after pressing on terror, use polymorph on the enemy hero immediately; you will be able to do this in less than a second. When the hero is under polymorph status, whack him continuously about 3 seconds or so and click your magic missile on him, this will result in stunning him at the time when he recovers from polymorph so it’s a good timing.

If he survives from the combo and tries to stun you, you dodge it by nether swapping with him and you dodge the stun! Then on seeing his death, he will try to escape. Follow him closely but try not to attack him and lose track as you’re slowing yourself down when you’re attacking and chasing the hero at the same time. After awhile, your magic missile has cool down and magic missile the enemy straight away, although you might have to move forward a bit because of the cast time, you still should be able to get a couple of hits. Now if he survives again, look again, your polymorph is ready and boom there he turns into a critter again! You move beside the hero can attack him, by now he should be dead.

Against two or more heroes -

If you’re with an allied hero and both of you faces two incoming heroes, you might want to use this tactic. Follow behind your creep with your ally and when they appears, trying to defend or push, you swap with one of the enemy heroes. Which hero you might want to swap? Swap the hero who has stuns and disables and a health to high for you to take, so you’re swapping him to your ally. Your ally should be a hero who can deal with stunners or disables so you can finish the other hero off when you swap places if your enemy hero.

Alright let’s make it simpler -

Let’s say your ally is N’aix while you face off Dragon knight and Queen of Plain. You and N’aix stay behind your creep wave and now DK and QoP appears in from of your wave, trying to defend or push. You, Vengeful spirit, nether swap with dragon knight, placing you with queen of plain. Now you leave N’aix to fight Dragon Knight, which should be no kick as N’aix should have activated his Rage. You face off QoP, now you don’t terror before polymorph, you polymorph first as a queen of plain would have shadow strike or wave both of you before trying to get away with blink. You polymorph, terror, attack and then magic missile later when she has almost recovered from polymorph. A few attacks would have killed QoP as she has low life and very few QoP would have gotten an aganim’s scepter nowadays. IF she’s got polymorph too, you should be prepared to have a quicker reaction to polymorph before she does. After killing Queen of Plain, Nâ?aix could also have killed Dragon Knight as DK won’t be able to get away from Nâ?aix on rage.

If really Queen of Plain survives from you and blinked away and DK turns into a lvl3 dragon and flew away, you and N’aix continue to push and don’t waste time on killing them. For a moment, you can push with ease without any hero harassing.

That’s one tactic which you can use when you have an ally by your side and you’re facing two heroes.

Other than that,if you’re facing two heroes all by yourself, you can call for help or use your cyclone[if you haven complete guinsoo] tactic against the two heroes.

11. Clearing your doubts

There’s always a discussion between adding attribute bonus or Command aura for Vengeful Spirit early game. I’ve tried to do some research and came out with these findings.People always say Command aura at level 1 and 2 is useless while attribute bonus gives better increment but without level 1 command aura tell me how do you get to level 4 command aura?Everything comes from a start.

Command Aura instead of Attribute Bonus

VS = Vengeful Spirit

Level 1 - Magic Missile

VS : 34 - 48 +0 damage | Creeps: +0 damage

Level 2 - [Command Aura]

VS : 36 - 50 +5 damage | Creeps: +2/+3 damage

Level 3 - Magic Missile

VS : 39 - 53 +6 damage | Creeps: +2/+3 damage

Level 4 - [Command Aura]

VS : 41 - 55 +10 damage | Creeps: +4/+5 damage

Level 5 - Magic Missile

VS : 44 - 58 +10 damage | Creeps: +4/+5 damage

Level 6 - Nether Swap

VS : 47 - 61 +11 damage | Creeps: +4/+5 damage

Level 7 - Magic Missile

VS : 49 - 63 +11 damage | Creeps: +4/+5 damage

Level 8 - [Command Aura]

VS : 52 - 66 +17 damage | Creeps: +6/+7 damage

Level 9 - [Command Aura]

VS : 55 - 69 +22 damage | Creeps: +8/+9 damage

From here, you can see that command aura not only does add your own damage, it also provides additional damage for your creeps.+9 damage at level 4 command aura is very helpful in pushing.

Attribute Bonus instead of Command aura

VS = Vengeful Spirit

Level 1 - Magic Missile

VS : 34 - 48 | Creeps: +0 damage

AGI: 22 | STR: 16 | INT: 15

HP: 454 | Mana: 195 | Armor: 4

Level 2 - [Attribute Bonus]

VS : 36 - 50 +2 damage | Creeps: +0 damage

AGI: 24 +2 | STR: 17 +2 | INT: 16 +2

HP: 473 +38 | Mana: 208 +26 | Armor: 5 +0.3

Level 3 - Magic Missile

VS : 39 - 53 +2 damage | Creeps: +0 damage

AGI: 27 +2 | STR: 19 +2 | INT: 18 +2

HP: 511 +38 | Mana: 234 +26| Armor: 5 +0.3

Level 4 - [Attribute Bonus]

VS : 41 - 55 +4 damage | Creeps: +0 damage

AGI: 29 +4 | STR: 21 +4 | INT: 20 +4

HP: 549 +76 | Mana: 260 +52 | Armor: 5 +0.6

Level 5 - Magic Missile

VS : 44 - 58 +4 damage | Creeps: +0 damage

AGI: 32 +4 | STR: 23 +4 | INT: 22 +4

HP: 587 +76 | Mana: 283 +52 | Armor: 5 +0.6

Level 6 - Nether Swap

VS : 47 - 61 +4 damage | Creeps: +0 damage

AGI: 35 +4 | STR: 24 +4 | INT: 23 +4

HP: 606 +76 | Mana: 299 +52 | Armor: 6 +0.6

Level 7 - Magic Missile

VS : 49 + 63 +4 damage | Creeps: +0 damage

AGI: 37 +4 | STR: 26 +4 | INT: 25 +4

HP: 644 +76 | Mana: 325 +52 | Armor: 6 +0.6

Level 8 - Command Aura

VS : 52 - 66 +12 damage | Creeps: +2/+3 damage

AGI: 40 +4 | STR: 28 +4 | INT: 27 +4

HP: 682 +76 | Mana: 351 +52 | Armor: 7 +0.6

Level 9 - Command Aura

VS : 55 - 69 +17 damage | Creeps: +4/+5 damage

AGI: 43 +4 | STR: 30 +4 | INT: 29 +4

HP: 720 +76 | Mana: 377 +52 | Armor: 7 +0.6

Now you can see which one is better. Is it a couple of stats earlier better or command aura better? In my opinion, I would always take command aura regardless of which hero I am facing. If I’m with an ally, command aura will indeed be a much better choice as both of you will have additional 20+ damage by level 9.You might think a+ 76 health bonus and + 52 mana is good, but that isn’t going to help a lot early game. Get two ironwood branches for the two stats if you want but I don’t recommend that. You see, command aura also adds creep damage by + 8 for necromancers and +9 for treants/ghouls at level 4.It is a lot, your creep wave will defiantly have an upper edge when against another creep wave.

Therefore, I always chooses command aura as my earlier choice, I hope after analyzing with you guys, you can really see the difference in between them. Thanks.

12. Mini guide on Nether Swap

Dos

Preventing your target from escaping in a 1 v 1 situation -

Before you get your Guinsoo’s scythe of Vyse, there will always be problems where your target escapes even with a couple of magic missiles. You can always use Nether Swap in these situations, change the position with him and you can hit him at least 5 times before he dies or if he’s really lucky, escapes. This is basically how people use this to attack as you won’t mind using nether swap because of the low mana consumption and low cool down.

Placing your target for your tower to attack -

This is a very evil act by Vengeful spirit’s nether swap, one of the most unscrupulous methods in getting your kill. But who cares, if you’re able to kill you won’t care if you’re evil or not. People often hits the tower until there’s a last creep taking the tower’s damage before he backs away. Now you can use the advantage and swap him before he gets away, the tower will hit him in no time, in early game, tower can kill a hero in less than 5 hits, so predict properly, if he’s dying, use your magic missile and end his life so the tower won’t kill steal you. But if the hero is a blinker, you should magic missile immediately or else he will just get away with a red health left if he blinks.

Placing yourself beside the hero -

Another usage can be to give your opponent a surprise attack. When you’re enemy hero is defending or pushing and when there’s less than 2 creeps left, you can nether swap with a creep beside him. You switched positions and you’re right beside the enemy hero. You will be able to launch two or more attacks before he starts to react, and when he reacts, magic missile him and stun him. Attack a few more times and he should be dead or he will escape and retreat back to the fountain.

Luring into a group of heroes -

When you’re pushing with a hero ally or two, and you see an enemy hero, you can nether swap with him and places him into your group of allies, this will definitely end his life unless he’s a windwalker or blinker. I don’t really recommend it as you won’t want to waste 200 mana at level 3 even if the cool down is short. A magic missile could already end his life.

To dodge an attack -

This is one of the craftiest moves what a nether swap can do. If a lich is casting a chain frost, you nether swap with his creep or nether swap with the lich. The chain frost will then bounce off to other places and you’ve just dodge the killer move. Another example is to dodge sandking’s or crystal maiden’s ultimate, just switch places with one of your creep so you’ll be able to get away. Actually you don’t need to nether swap, you just magic missile and their ultimate will be over, saving your allies as well.

To escape a trap –

You know what; Vengeful spirit is furion’s worst counter. If furion tries to sprout you, you can nether swap, trapping him instead and you just gain a free 6 seconds disable, in 6 seconds, a low life furion will be dead. If naga siren tries to trap you with her images, you terror and nether swap with one of her images or one of your creep and you’ll be able to get away as the nether swap at level 3 has a long range. But be careful, most naga siren gets a diffusal blade which can zap off your mana in seconds or even worst, manta style so your reaction must be quick to escape.

To cook your enemy [literally] -

A very despicable move by vengeful spirit. When really, if your team is losing and your enemies are attacking the throne or the towers in front of the throne, you can nether swap the enemy from your fountain. This allows the fire bush to burn and kill him alive, no heroes can survive a fire bush unless it’s a big tank with 5k health. In addition to that, you terror then magic missile and stun him, letting the fire bush rip him apart with reduced armor.

Saving your allies -

Nether swap can be used either offensively or defensively and to save your ally, it is a defensive move. When your ally is dying to a hero or two, try to nether swap with your ally and save him from the other heroes, you should then terror immediately to reduce their attack damage. You stun 1 with magic missile and polymorphs the stunner then you escape with your ally. Under all circumstances, do not try to nether swap when 4 heroes is chasing after your ally, you will get yourself killed and maybe if unlucky, your ally will be dead if they catch up with him. That will be a great lost.

Don’ts

Kill steal your ally -

The wickedest act of any player is to kill steal. I hate this kind of act, people just nether swap with your ally when the enemy hero is dying and kill steals with magic missile. Your whole team will be scolding you and your opponent team will be laughing at your clownish act even if you’ve got the frag and money. Therefore, this is not recommended.

Killing your ally -

When you’re suffering a gangbang do not under any circumstances swap with your ally and result in killing him, if you’re dying, save yourself by swapping with a creep, not your ally. If it's a leaver then maybe I’ll do that, if not then don’t. Your ally will be screaming at you and you might force him to leave the game. Of course just now I taught on how to dodge a massive spell such as sandking’s epicenter of cm’s freezing field, but don’t you be a nasty spirit and swap with your ally into the trap, killing your ally while you save yourself. This is immoral.

Trap enemy heroes or your allies -

Of course Vengeful Spirit is famous for tree trapping, everyone should know what i am saying.Tree trapping work when you have an ally blinker and he blinks into a tree, you swap with him and wait for your prey to come. When the enemy comes, you swap him into the tree and oyu come out. Then he'll be stuck in the tree, which often leads to a series of swearings by the player.I know he can -unstuck but its a stupid way to get yourself shitlisted in TDA.Yes,some Vengeful spirit traps his own teammates instead of trapping her enemies and that's seriously not funny at all.

13. My role as Vengeful Spirit

Attacking -

The role of Vengeful spirit lies in attacking. To start a battle without having any aoe stunners as an ally, swap with one of the creeps into the group of enemy heroes who are pushing. Terror immediately, magic missile and polymorph the stunners. Of course you must have good teamwork with your allies; they must quickly get into the battle when you’ve start swapping. If they neglect you and leave you behind, don’t try to do that anymore. If not, it will work pretty well.

Vengeful spirit is a front line hero for me; it always goes well with a centaur, slardar, magnus, the aoe stunning heroes. They start the stun, you terror and your allies attack together, if they try to escape, you polymorph one. Stun the other one and lastly nether swap if they need any more help in chasing escaping heroes. In such situations you DON’T care about being ksed or what, just co-operate with your allies well. Also, don’t kill steal by magic missile, save it for chasing.

Pushing -

In pushing, you need to stay beside your allies and creeps as they will be under the effect of command aura, which is very useful in all situations. Whenever an enemy creep waves come, terror and attack, the wave will be destroyed in less than a few seconds.

14. Best allies and skill combinations

Hero - Squee and Spleen, Goblin techies

Skills - Remote mines and Stasis trap

A good combination is to ask a goblin techies to plant around 5 remote mines in an area and you stand in the mines, when an enemy hero comes, swap with him and BAM he’s dead. Another reason why vengeful spirit is always good with goblin techies is that even if the enemy has wards or gems, you can always kill them to destroy the gem .

The stasis trap is the longest stunning skill in the game, therefore if you could swap an enemy in to a statis trap can you can kill the enemy when he’s stunned.

Heroes - Crystal maiden, Sandking, Luna Moonfang ,Rhasta ,Lich and Enigma

Skills - Freezing Field, Epicenter, Eclipse, Serpent Wards, Chain Frost and Midnight Pulse

When heroes such as Sand king, Crystal maiden or Luna Moonfang cast their ultimate and the enemy heroes get away, you can always Nether Swap and swap the escaping hero back and kill them. When Enigma cast his midnight pulse, although swapping a hero into it cannot ensure his death, it helps a lot too. A vengeful spirit works very well with Rhasta as when an enemy hero escapes her serpent trap, you can swap him back and polymorph and ensure the kill. Even high health tanks like centaur or skeleton king with reincarnation cannot survive this deadly combination.

Also, you can set up traps for your enemies, if lich casts chain frost on a hero, simply swap with another enemy hero or creep so the chain frost will bounce between them. That’s very possible for a double kill or a kill with a creep kill.

Best auras & skills which work well with command aura -

Trueshot aura, Presence of the Dark Lord, Fervor, Lunar Blessing, Empower , God’s Strength

If all these auras and skills are combined, it will give a mega boost to the damage. God’s strength+ Empower+ Command aura is a deadly combo, with critical the damage can go over 2k.When trueshot aura from drow ranger, presence of the dark lord from Nevermore and Lunar blessing from Luna Moonfang and command aura, it will give a crazy damage to range units, your creeps will have the damage of a hero.Fervor is another great aura to be combined with command aura with good damage, here comes good attack speed.

15. Worst enemies

Hero - Nerubian Assassin

Skill - Mana burn

Always a pain in the ass for all heroes early to mid game. His combo of skills can be very lethal to you because of your low health, therefore its your duty to deny his farming and experience early game. His mana burn is very annoying as you’re not having the mana to stun him or worst come to worst, no mana for escaping with nether swap. But if he’s not fed too much, late game he’ll be not very deadly to you. Early game you’ll have to fend yourself because his presence might always be deadly.

Heroes - Dragon Knight, Doom bringer, Rouge Knight, Slardar, Centaur Warchief

These are the tanks of DotA. A Dragon Knight can kill you easily when its in level 3 dragon form and if he manages to get a stun on you, you’re considered dead. If he gets to dragon form, you have to polymorph and escape with nether swap. The only Problem of Doom bringer is his doom, since you’ve very low life, you can get easily killed by him. If really that happens, run to a neutral creep and let them kill you before the doom kills you. You can also kill him before his doom kills you so you won’t be losing too much gold. Rouge knight is a very deadly hero to face against as his god’s strength is very powerful. Terror can still be effective in reducing the damage but he still deals massive damage to you. When he casts god’s strength, it will be wise to nether swap away and fight him later on.

The problem about Slardar is that is you land into his stun, you will be dead. Even if you nether swap away, he will still be able to chase you up in no time because of his sprint. Therefore, there’s always polymorph and magic missile to aid you. Centaur is a massive tank, his health is a lot and therefore killing him isn’t as simple as you think. Fighting him with an ally would be easier but it’ll be difficult if he gets a blink dagger, A linken’s sphere to hide from his stun is always good.

16. Conclusion

Whews,I’ve finally completed this guide. I guess this guide should somehow help in playing vengeful spirit. I'm willing to hear comments from everyone,if you think my good in lacking in some areas then tell me,i'll try my best to update it.That's all,i'm really grateful to all of you for reading my long guide. Thanks a lot.

Bane elemental –

Enfeeble ( E )

Greatly reduces an enemy unit's ability to participate in combat. Reduces its damage and life regeneration.

Lasts 20 seconds.

Level 1 - Reduces attack damage by 20% and life regeneration by 1 hit point per second.

Level 2 - Reduces attack damage by 40% and life regeneration by 2 hit points per second.

Level 3 - Reduces attack damage by 60% and life regeneration by 3 hit points per second.

Level 4 - Reduces attack damage by 80% and life regeneration by 4 hit points per second.

Mana Cost: 125. Cooldown: 20 seconds

Brain Sap ( B )

Feasts on the vital energies of another unit, absorbing some of its hit points.

Level 1 - Absorbs up to 75 hit points.

Level 2 - Absorbs up to 150 hit points.

Level 3 - Absorbs up to 225 hit points.

Level 4 - Absorbs up to 300 hit points.

Mana cost: 125/150/175/200. Cooldown: 20 seconds

Nightmare ( T )

Puts another unit into a fitful slumber, filled with horrifying nightmares. It takes 20 damage per second. If that unit is attacked while it slumbers, the attacking unit comes under the effect of Nightmare.

Level 1 - Lasts 4 seconds.

Level 2 - Lasts 5 seconds.

Level 3 - Lasts 6 seconds.

Level 4 - Lasts 7 seconds.

Mana cost: 175. Cooldown: 15 seconds.

Fiend's Grip ( F )

Uses dark magic to grip a target enemy unit and damage it heavily. It cannot move or attack.

Lasts 5 seconds.

Level 1 - Deals 100 damage per second, costs 40 mana and hit points per second.

Level 2 - Deals 155 damage per second, costs 60 mana and hit points per second.

Level 3 - Deals 215 damage per second, costs 80 mana and hit points per second.

Mana cost: 100/175/250. Cooldown: 120 seconds

Null Talisman

Flask of Sapphire Water

Lesser Clarity Potion

Boots of Speed

Eul's Scepter of Divinity

Oblivion Staff

Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse

Necromicon

Eye of Skadi

Blade Mail

1 nightmare

2 brain sap

3 nightmare

4 brain sap

5 nightmare

6 fiend’s grip

7 nightmare

8 brain sap

9 brain sap

1 nightmare

2 enfeeble

3 nightmare

4 enfeeble

5 nightmare

6 fiend’s grip

7 enfeeble

8 nightmare

9 enfeeble

10 nightmare

11-15 stats

16 fiend’s grip

17 stats

Stats, Skills and Comments

HP: 587

MP: 221

Armor: 3.8

Damage: 55-65 (!!!)

Attack Speed: 1.5 attacks per second.

Str: 23 + 2.7*level

Agi: 13 + 1.5*level

Int: 17 + 2*level

Range: Melee

This hero has one of the strongest initial damage, but his attack speed isn't good. He also has an amazing str.

Skills:

Aphotic Shield

Summons dark energies around an ally unit/structure, creating a shield that absorbs a set amount of damage before expiring. When the shield is destroyed it will deal damage equal to the amount it absorbed to an area around it. If cast on self while using borrowed time, the damage you take will heal you. Lasts 30 seconds.

Level 1 - 100 damage.

Level 2 - 150 damage.

Level 3 - 200 damage.

Level 4 - 250 damage.

This is your basic nuke. It deny 100-250 damage done to the target and when it ends releases the damage blocked. It also heals you if you use it during your ultimate. Useful casting on Towers, youself or dying allies.

Mark of the Abyss

Marks a target unit, binding Abaddon to it. Abaddon will gain a boost in attack speed. You cannot stop attacking until either you or the mark die. Your pathing will not be blocked by other units during this time.

Level 1 - 25% IAS (Increased Attack Speed).

Level 2 - 50% IAS.

Level 3 - 75% IAS.

Level 4 - 100% IAS.

With this skill, Abaddon will follow blindly the enemy, you'll lose his control until you or the enemy die. This is pretty situational, a kill or die action. Use it only when you are sure you are faster than the enemy, there is no Chen around, it is not Furion, does not have blink skill (Morph included) or dagger of escape and don't have any other kind of running ability that increases significantly the speed, such as Windwalk (for some heros, like Clinkz), Slardar's Sprint and Bloodseeker's Strygwyr's Thirst. Note that you can still hit invisible enemies. Not worth your skill points early on, but a great killing ability later.

Frostmourne

Empowers the legendary sword with the ability to reduce targets speed.

Level 1 - 7% Speed Reduction.

Level 2 - 14% Speed Reduction.

Level 3 - 21% Speed Reduction.

Level 4 - 28% Speed Reduction.

Really good one. With this you have a "small" Eye of Skadi. THIS IS NOT AN ORB. Good for hunting.

Borrowed Time

Whenever you take damage and your hitpoints drop below 400 you will no longer lose hitpoints. This ability will only go off once every minute max.

Level 1 - Lasts 4 seconds.

Level 2 - Lasts 5 seconds.

Level 3 - Lasts 6 seconds.

This is Abaddon's ultimate. As the name says, you'll have one extra living time. No matter how much they hurt you, you won't get any damage. But beware that if they nuke you by 401+ damage, before activating this skill, you will not survive. Take care with Axe too, his ultimate will kill you, ignoring this ability.

*If you are facing many enemies with escaping abilities, only learn Mark on the last levels.

I believe there isn't a better skill build for this hero. Early game, you are just too weak to risk with Mark, the enemy can just run to tower and you'll be soon dead.

I've heard people who prefer stats over Frostmore, learning it in levels past 10. Well, it may be just me, but I don't wait until level 10 to hunt. By level 6 group kills start, an slowed enemy would be an almost sure kill.

Item Builds

Game Start:

-Random/-ar:

Belt of Giant Strenght (450)

Chicken (225)

Iron Wood Branch (57)

Pick/-ap

Chicken

Now, buy these itens as you have the money, using the chicken.

(Belt of Giant Strenght for pickers)

Ogre Axe (1000)

Sange Scroll (600) -> Sange

Boots of Speed (500)

Gloves of Haste (610)

Power Treads Scroll (420) -> Power Treads

Boots of Elven skin (450)

Blade of Alacrity (1000)

Yasha Scroll (600) -> Yasha

Sange and Yasha scroll (900) -> Sange and Yasha

M. Reaver (3200)

Vitality Booster (1100)

Heart of Tarrasque scroll -> HoT

The game should be end by here (Total expence of 12030 gold)

If not...

Buriza(6200)

Aegis of Immortal (4850)

Divine Rapier (7800)

Reasons:

S&Y> Move, Attack speed increased, you need both. Also increases HP. Maim works wonder with Frostmoure. A perfect item for any melee IMO.

Treads> Move and Attack speed.

HoT> Life, Regen, some damage. Need to say more? Survival is the key.

Another good choices:

Black King Bar -> Massive Disables, nukers? Use avatar and rushin.

Monkey King Bar -> Lots of damage if your enemies can't really low your HP, replacing HoT.

Lothar Edge -> Really good for running and ambushing. Get close to enemy and Mark him. With Frostmoure and Maim, they will not run by normal means.

Dagger of Escape -> Similar to Lothar

Basher -> Bash is always welcome. With Mark and two bashers you are a perma stunner.

Butterfly -> Attack speed, a little damage and evasion. Good for a tanker.

Items I do not recommend:

Eye of Skadi -> It doesn't stack with Frostmoure, you don't need that much mana, you get more HP from HoT and more agi from others.

Strategy

Early Game

Now you have your friend chicken and your belt (or not). So, go to a lane, bottom or top (top is better), NOT middle, Abaddon isn't good on middle.

As most melees, Abaddon can't do much early on, but you can always do the melee dance. Hold Alt to show the units HP Bar. Watch for low HP creeps and go for it.

From time to time, when your mana is almost full, cast Apotic Shield (AP) on youself or on a ghoul/trent. If you cast on youself, go and attack creeps freely for a few seconds, then go back after the shield is off. If cast on a creep, just let it be, cast preferably on low health creeps. If there are nukers or disablers on your lane, stick with the second option. It's not a good idea giving your face to be hit.

As you play, the enemy may reach your tower, right? And you don't want it to die, do you? So what you do? Cast the shield on the tower. It will protected it and might get you a few kills if lucky.

You shouldn't go hunting before having Borrowed Time (BS).

After having your ultimate, things get good to gankz. Call some allies (preferably disablers) and hunt the ones with low life, or going solo, you can't let they grow. Before attacking, cast AS on the one that is probably going to be attacked, if the enemy counters, or, if you believe he will run, cast on youself. If you jump on someone, and he manages to run to the tower with low life, ignore the tower, considering the enemy doesn't have many ways to stop you, disables. With 4 seconds of no damage, you'll be fine. Recasting AP is a good idea if you get the chance.

By level 12 you should have Sange and Treads. By here you are on the...

Mid Game

By now you are strong enoght to be able to kill with Mark and survive. So, use it, but not straight away. First, run to the enemy and hit it at least once to slow him a bit, remember not to use on certain heros, the ones I mentioned before. This way they will be already slowed when they start running/fighting. By the time you get S&Y, nearly no one will run from you, maim will make they almost stop.

When you see massive pushes by creeps, rush there and try to get extra kills. Using AS, kills should come easy.

High creeps! Dragons, Golems and Dragonlizard or something... They give a good fast money. Try to kill then many times.

Borrowed Time is a life saver when getting attack by multiple heros. Be sure to always have it avaible.

Late Game

By late game you should be almost with HoT complete. So, what to do?

You have lots of HP and damage, along with BS. So, why not backstab? I know many people are against it, but this hero is just amazing for it.

But do it in a smart way. Most heros are far? That's your chance. Don't let the tower turn BS on, run with about 600 HP (depending on what heros you are facing, don't do that with Bone Fletcher around), and also, don't let creeps surround you.

So, you don't like backstabbing, or you are not being able to? So you should keep with group kills. By late game, you are going to find people alone, unless they are really dump (possible), so, be ready to be attacked by more than one.

Before attacking, combine who to attack first. Use Mark on that one after you hit once with your attack, so that it will be slowed and won't have many running chances.

Attacking by the back is always the best option, since you will get they in surprise (most likely) and won't have much trouble with creeps. Yes, they can hurt.

Play safe and you'll achieve success.

Friends and Foes

Your best friends:

Disablers. Anyone who can stop the enemy from moving. Honorable mentions:

Rhasta: He has 2 disables, just amazing. Hex and Shakles.

Medusa: She can cast purge, making the enemy almost stop moving. Also a good damage dealer.

Vengenful Spirit: With Nether Swap and Stun allied to maim and frost is almost impossible to run.

"Free" Kills:

Basically, who can't run or disable you... notable names:

Drow: Planning on run with Frozen arrows? You have to stop to attack, in this time, Abaddon will almost reach you. Silence? Who cares? You can't control. Easy.

Sniper: He is similar to Drow, but without slow and silence... poor guy.

Keeper of the Light: I think he is free kill to everyone...

Worst Enemies:

These ones are dangerous... most the time they will be superior to you, bring a lot of trouble or you won't be able to kill.

Chen: He seens to be pathetic and he is against you, but then, why did I put him here? Test of Faith. This is one of your nightmares. Avoid using Mark at all cost when Chen is around.

Axe: Let's say... he can ignore your ultimate (his ultimate still kills you). He can tank you and deal lots of damage. Do I need to say be careful?

Techies: Yep. Another nightmare. I wouldn't use Mark, or even learn it, with Techies around. Got marked? Run to mines!

Bloodseeker: He is faster than you and he has Rupture, one of the most damaging skills in the game. In case you Mark him, he will use rupture and run, you'll follow, follow... and end with BS, while he is still on full life. Then he just kills you, or keep running to the fontain.

Abuser! Fu**in imba!

3.1 Kamikadze

1) Boots of Speed

2) Lothar's Edge/Kelen's Dagger of Escape

3) Boots of Travel

1. FIRST BLOOD.

Tiny - Homing Missile

Treant Protector -

Stealth asassin -

7) Quarterstaff + Sobi Mask + Robe of Magi => Oblivion Staff

8) Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse

9) Belt of Giant Strength + Staff of Wizardry + Necronomicon scroll

1. FIRST BLOOD.

V. Item Descriptions

Bracer | 510 Gold

+6 Strength

+3 Intelligence

+3 Agility

Primarily used as an inexpensive strength boost, which increases survivability and damage potential when factored into God’s Strength. A secondary benefit is more mana available to cast Storm Bolt. Add between two and four Bracers to Sven’s inventory to pump him up for battle. Bracers are preferred to Null Talismans because they give more strength. Though Sven has a small mana pool, strength is more important than intelligence because it gets factored directly into God’s Strength.

Power Treads | 1530 Gold

+60 Run Speed

+30% Attack Speed

Primarily used as an inexpensive movement and attack speed boost, which are both crucial in battle. Increasing movement speed also increases Sven’s chances of killing or surviving, because running is his only true method of chasing or escape. Increasing attack speed also increases Sven’s chances of Critical Strike and Life Steal ability. Can be substituted with Boots of Travel late game, since Hyperstone will fill the role of increasing attack speed. Boots of Travel may be substituted earlier than late game if Sven is not able to escape from pursuing enemy heroes.

Helm of the Dominator | 1850 Gold

+10 Damage

+5 Armor

Passive: 15% Life Steal (Orb)

Active: Dominate

Primarily used as a stepping stone toward a Satanic. Sven will take less damage in battle from the additional armor, and the Life Steal will help keep him alive in battle. Dominate has a long cooldown and dominated creeps have a timed life, but you should be able to take control of about four creeps before the first one runs out of time. Dominate the Centaur Khan for its War Stomp and Endurance Aura or the Polar Furbolg Ursa Warrior for its War Stomp and Command Aura.

Satanic | 6150 Gold

+25 Strength

+5 Armor

Passive: 23% Life Steal (Orb)

Active: Death Pact (Self-heals by killing a friendly creep. 105 Mana Cost.)

Primarily used as a significant strength boost in order to increase God’s Strength, but the additional armor and Life Steal are useful for keeping Sven alive in battle. Death Pact should be used on the allied creep with the most hit points in order to convert the maximum amount of life. Life Steal is the best Orb effect for Sven and is especially effective when used with God’s Strength and Critical Strike. Unlike the Heart of Tarrasque, the Satanic is most effective in battle because Sven must attack non-buildings in order to Life Steal to work.

Crystalys | 2850 Gold

+35 Damage

Passive: Critical Strike

10% Chance 1.75x Damage Multiplier

Primarily used as a stepping stone toward a Burize-do Kyanon. Recipe ingredients are inexpensive, so the Crystalys is easy to make. Critical Strike has enormous potential for Sven, especially considering it stacks with Great Cleave and God’s Strength. Getting the Crystalys and Hyperstone middle game will help Sven farm to the Satanic and Burize-do Kyanon late game.

Burize-do Kyanon | 6000 Gold

+75 Damage

Passive: Critical Strike

20% Chance 2.2x Damage Multiplier

Primarily used to boost damage because Critical Strike stacks with Great Cleave, which increases Sven’s farming and hero-killing potential. The Burize-do Kyanon is the best primary damage item for Sven, and works with Great Cleave much better than a Battlefury. Splashing a lower percentage (60 %) of higher damage (75 x 2.2) yields higher splashed damage than splashing a higher percentage (95 %) of much lower damage (+ 55). Critical Strike is also highly effective with the Life Steal from Satanic.

Hyperstone | 2450 Gold

+55% Attack Speed

Primarily used to boost raw attack speed without interfering with any Orb effects. Smarter long-term investment than Mask of Madness, because Sven does not take any extra damage or have to activate any abilities to gain the additional attack speed. Hyperstone works extremely well with Life Steal, Critical Strike, Great Cleave, and God’s Strength.

Oblivion Staff | 1925 Gold

+15 Damage

+10% Attack Speed

+6 Intelligence

50% Mana Regeneration

Primarily used to build Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse, but offers increased damage and casting potential. One of the best ability-to-cost ratios out of recipe items, meaning the abilities you gain are worth more than the gold cost. Ideal item for those players who seek passive benefits.

Eul's Scepter of Divinity | 2350 Gold

+18 Intelligence

100% Mana Regeneration

Active: Cyclone (7 Charges)

Primarily used to build Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse, but offers increased mana regeneration and disable. Cyclone removes buffs, which unfortunately means it is a one way to counter God’s Strength. Heroes cannot attack or cast while in Cyclone, but they also cannot be attacked or cast upon.

Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse | 5175 Gold

+35 Damage

+25 Intelligence

150% Mana Regeneration

Active: Hex

Primarily used to boost mana regeneration, which means Sven should always have enough mana to cast Storm Bolt, God’s Strength, or Death Pact. Hex is a second form of disable, meaning Sven should be able to take on multiple heroes with less of a problem. Expert Sven players should learn how to manage Sven’s small mana pool, but Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse is a necessary late game item because Sven might need another form of disable or he may not have the opportunity to run back to the fountain to regenerate mana. Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse entered this build as an alternative situational item to Black King Bar or Dagger of Escape, and has become part of the recommended build because of the increased mana regeneration and additional disable.

Heart of Tarrasque | 5600 Gold

+30 Strength

+300 Hit Points

+11 HP/Sec Regeneration

Primarily used to boost hit points and strength, which will factor directly into God’s Strength. The Heart of Tarrasque will constantly regenerate hit points, which is mostly effective when not taking direct damage. Sven will be extremely hard to kill after getting a Heart of Tarrasque, especially if he already has a Satanic. The Satanic should be purchased first because it offers armor and Life Steal, and the Heart of Tarrasque should be purchased second because it offers hit points regeneration. Both the Satanic and Heart of Tarrasque are necessary items for Sven because they both help boost God’s Strength significantly.

Boots of Speed (500)

Mask of Death (900)

Helm of Iron Will (950)

Early Game Item Build: 3370 Gold

Early Game Strategy

The first thing to do when the game starts is buy two Circlets of Nobility, Gauntlets of Ogre Strength, and learn level 1 Storm Bolt. You need the Circlets of Nobility to boost your mana pool early, and you get Gauntlets of Ogre Strength because you will miss the first wave of creeps if you hang around for a third Circlet of Nobility. It is always smarter to buy the parts for multiple Bracers rather than completing one Bracer, because you get more stats. Try to fight in one of the two outside lanes, because you can only get ambushed from one side. Switch lanes if you are against mana burners, because you need your mana to harass enemy heroes with Storm Bolt.

The best way for Sven to farm early game is to stand behind his creeps, just close enough to gain experience, then hold down the ALT key in order to monitor the health of enemy creeps. When an enemy creep’s health turns yellow, run up and deliver the fatal blow so that you get the gold. Retreat back to your spot behind the creeps and repeat this process. The less you attack enemy creeps, the closer the fight will be to your tower, making it easier for you to stay alive and ambush enemy heroes. You are far enough away from combat that you can see the enemy coming so you have enough time to retreat before they attack you.

These are some ways to stay alive while farming, but there are also other advantages to doing this that you might not notice right away. Standing behind your creeps shows the enemy hero that you are cautious, but confident. In the beginning they will start running at you to nuke you or attack, and since you retreat before they can do so, they end up taking damage from your creeps and possibly your tower. If they get close enough to your tower, then throw a Storm Bolt at them. The tower will probably attack them, the creeps might attack them, and you can attack them if you feel like it.

It is much easier to defend your tower early game than it is to fight at the enemy tower. Early game is just to level and farm, so you can buy higher tier items later and pound the enemy team into the ground. You need to stay in your lane and close enough to the battle to gain experience and move in for creep kills. This does not mean run around the map hunting for enemy hero kills or running back to the fountain healing constantly. Your success middle and late game is greatly determined on how well you farm early game and how quickly you gain experience.

If you have to go back to the fountain to heal, do so only when you have enough gold to buy some items for your build. Start by finishing two Bracers, then buy Boots of Speed because you will need movement speed to escape or to get the fatal hit in on a fleeing enemy hero. If you find an enemy hero in your lane with low health, then you should harass them with Storm Bolt, but be very conscious of your mana usage. If you can get the kill, then consider ambushing, otherwise just throw Storm Bolts until they are weak enough to kill.

You should at least wait until level 5 before harassing with Storm Bolt, because you want to deal at least 250 damage per bolt and you will need mana to throw more than one. Do not chase an enemy hero unless you are sure you can get the kill without losing too much health to stay and farm. If they return to the fountain to heal, then you can gain one or two levels while they are gone. Sven does not have fast movement speed, so do not attempt to chase enemy heroes unless you can get the kill. When you target the enemy hero, both the enemy creeps and enemy tower will target you, so whenever you chase you will almost always lose health.

Storm Bolt is your main tool for harassment, so it is important to make sure you have enough mana to cast a few. Pumping your stats and buying Bracers is the best way to increase your mana potential early game. After level 7, you should have enough mana to cast three Storm Bolts. You could turn those Storm Bolts into three hero kills if you are lucky, but you will probably use two of them for a hero kill and one to escape. Always have enough mana to cast at least one Storm Bolt, because it might be your only chance to escape from certain death.

If you finish two Bracers, Boots of Speed, and Helm of the Dominator before middle game, then work on finishing your Power Treads. Once you get Life Steal, it will be much easier for you to farm without retreating to the fountain to heal. By level 9, you should have learned level 4 Storm Bolt, level 2 Great Cleave, and level 3 Attribute Bonus. Try to stay away from buying a Chicken yet or too many Potions, because you need to save your gold for more expensive items.

VII. How to Play Middle Game (Levels 10-16)

Blades of Attack (650)

Broadsword (1200)

Crystalys (1000)

Hyperstone (2450)

Middle Game Item Build: 6330 Gold

Middle Game Strategy

Middle game begins when you learn God’s Strength at levels 10 and 11. You should definitely be finished with Power Treads and working on your Crystalys by now. Middle game is still primarily for farming, but after level 11 Sven can start hero killing as well. If you were able to get two Bracers and learn level 3 Attribute Bonus early game, then you should have around 1500 hit points. The first couple attempts you make to kill a hero, it will usually be running straight at them through the creep battle. Once you get a couple hero kills this way, you will find the enemy heroes running from you as soon as they see you charge. This is why it is important to change your angle of attack so the enemy heroes do not see it coming.

Once the push is at your tower, wait in the woods or river out of sight until the enemy creep wave arrives. Then run out behind the enemy hero and click on the ground near them to avoid targeting until you are in melee range. Once in melee range, attack them until they run. As soon as they turn to run, throw a Storm Bolt at them, attack twice, and run along side them until you can throw another Storm Bolt and finish them. Stop pursuit before you are in the enemy tower’s range or if another enemy hero shows up. By now your should be taking damage from enemy creeps, so run immediately and go heal.

Start by sneaking close to the enemy hero, but you must stay completely out of sight. Hiding in the woods or in the river is usually a good idea, but make sure you wait until their next creep wave arrives before you make your move. As soon as the enemy creep wave passes your position and engages in combat with your allied creep wave, activate God’s Strength and run at the enemy hero from behind.

Start attacking them with God’s Strength activated until they react. Fight them until they run or you lose too much health, then throw a Storm Bolt at their head. If you have enough hit points, then chase them for 8 seconds until you can throw another Storm Bolt and get the kill.

When you are chasing them, click on the ground ahead of where the enemy hero is running rather then clicking on the enemy hero themselves. If you are clicking on them and they fun into the fog, then Sven will stop chasing and start attacking whatever is closest to him. If you know you are not going to kill them, then stop chasing. If you are within range of the enemy tower, then stop chasing. If another enemy hero shows up to beat you down, then stop chasing. If at any time you can get a hero kill without dying, do so immediately. Constantly track enemy hero movements using the mini-map, because they will start to gang bang you once they realize they cannot take you solo.

If you do not see any enemy heroes on the mini-map, then go wait near your tower until you know where they are. Once you kill the heroes in your lane or send them back to the fountain, then you need to decide what to do next: stay and farm, help teammates, go heal or buy something. The smartest long-term investment for Sven is to farm as much as possible, but helping teammates runs a close second. Healing and buying should be done as needed, but Sven should focus on farming and hero killing. Sven should learn Great Cleave at levels 12 and 13, and should be finishing a Crystalys.

Then, levels 14 through 16, Sven should not have a problem saving for a Hyperstone. Usually team beat downs start at the end of middle game, but make sure Sven focuses on farming to that Satanic. Of course, Sven should help his team if necessary. So far, Sven has not needed extra inventory space because the item build order is efficient. Remember to use the Helm of the Dominator to take control of the Centaur Khan for its War Stomp and Endurance Aura or the Polar Furbolg Ursa Warrior for its War Stomp and Command Aura. You will be able to Dominate four creeps before the first timed life ends.

Late Game Strategy

Sven is nasty late game, but most games will only last long enough to finish the Satanic and Burize-do Kyanon. He can solo towers or super creeps, wipe out creep waves of any size, and kill multiple heroes at once. With the item build and skill order outlined in this guide, Sven is designed to attack anything and tank the damage. The worst part about Sven being so nasty is that the entire enemy team will go for him first. Defense of the Ancients is a team game, and Sven will get owned solo against good teamwork. However, if his team can make the other team run away with low mana and hit points, then Sven can run in and mop the floor with all five heroes.

Late game is all about teamwork, and most heroes caught farming alone will be gang banged. Sven must stay with his team, because he has more protection from his teammates and he offers more protection for them. Remember that Sven heals more when he is attacking something this late in the game than when he is standing still or running around. If you need to heal, just go wipe out a few creep camps. At this point in the game, you could choose Toughness Aura instead of Attribute Bonus if you really want to, but I prefer to pump my attributes up as soon as possible. I do not get Toughness Aura earlier in the game because it gives away my presence when I am trying to ambush enemy heroes.

There is not much difference between Sven’s late game playing style and his middle game playing style, except late game he can solo Roshan, kill two Super Creeps at once, or destroy six enemy barracks in less than 40 seconds. If Sven did not have a hard time getting to late game, then he will not have a hard time owning late game. If Sven had a hard time leveling and farming in early and middle game, then it will be hard for him to catch up late game. This is a Sven guide, not the only way to play, so remember that sometimes you will have to adapt the skill order, item build, or strategy to work in different situations. This is my favorite way to play him and it works for me almost every time.

Below is a screen shot of Sven at level 25 with the complete skill order and item build, with God’s Strength activated:

IX. How to Counter Sven

Diffusal Blade can Purge (remove) God’s Strength and slow Sven. Eul’s Scepter of Divinity can Cyclone Sven, removing God’s Strength. Buy Helm of the Dominator to take control of a Satyr Trickster, and use its Purge to remove God’s Strength from Sven. Blademail will return damage to Sven and reduce the damage he does to you. Cranium Basher and Hyperstone on hero with fast attack speed such as Naix, Troll, or Lycan will keep Sven bashed, greatly reducing Sven’s battle capabilities.

Medusa has Purge (ultimate), which can remove God’s Strength. Buy Diffusal Blade for second form of Purge and feedback. Nerubian Assassin can burn all of Sven’s mana, preventing him from casting Storm Bolt or God’s Strength. Learn Spiked Carapace to use with Platemail, returning 65% damage to Sven. Skeleton King is usually an even match for Sven, because both are strength heroes with Storm Bolt and similar attributes.

Sven is much better at wiping out crowds with Great Cleave, while Skeleton King is better solo because of Critical Strike and Vampiric Aura. Sven has the potential to deal huge damage, but Skeleton King has Reincarnation. Sven might make Skeleton King use Reincarnation, but Sven will have a hard time killing him again because Skeleton King reincarnates with full health and mana. Skeleton King should get a Satanic, Hyperstone, Refresher Orb, Aegis of the Immortal, Boots of Travel, and Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse.

Now Skeleton King can attack and kill anything solo without dying, even Roshan or Sven. Normally 2700 hit points is not much for a late game tank like Skeleton King, but when you consider how many times he can come back to life, he has more like 8000 hit points. Skeleton King would be almost impossible to kill with a Refresher Orb and Aegis of the Immortal, because Sven would have to chisel through 8000 hit points to kill Skeleton King once.

X. Frequently Asked Questions

How does God’s Strength calculate bonus damage?

God’s Strength takes the mean base damage, adds any non-base strength to it, then takes a percentage of that sum and adds the result to total damage.

As an example, pretend we have a Sven at level 16 with two Bracers (+12 strength), Power Treads, Hyperstone, Satanic (+25 strength), and Burize-do Kyanon (+75 damage) as well as five points into Stats (+10 strength), and level 3 God’s Strength (+175%).

Notice his damage and strength below without God’s Strength activated:

Damage: 94 - 96 + 122

Strength: 63 + 47

Notice his damage and strength below with God’s Strength activated:

(mean base damage + non-base strength) x 1.75 = damage increase + current damage = total damage

95 + 47 = 142 x 1.75 = 249 damage increase + 217 current damage = 466 total damage

Damage: 94 - 96 + 371

Strength: 63 + 47

When God’s Strength is activated by Sven in the above example, he has a 20% chance to dead a 1000 damage Critical Strike. He will steal 23% life every time he attacks an enemy hero or creep. The formulas explain the screen shots and the screen shots prove the formulas are correct.

Why wait until level 10 to get God’s Strength?

Sven needs his mana to cast Storm Bolt before level 10, besides he should not be trying to focus on hero killing before middle game anyway. Learning Attribute Bonus at level 6 will help Sven have enough mana at level 10 and 11 to cast God’s Strength and a couple Storm Bolts. Sven just does not deal enough damage for God’s Strength to really help at level 6, but some people still get it anyway.

Why not get mana regeneration before late game?

Bracers and Attribute Bonus are all the mana regeneration that is needed early and middle game. You will always have enough mana to cast God’s Strength and multiple Storm Bolts with this item build. However since Sven is always looking for a fight, then you will find yourself healing at the fountain before you actually run out of mana. Expert Sven players know how to manage his mana pool, but if you are constantly running out of mana then just get the Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse earlier that this guide recommends. Doing so will reduce your strength and damage potential for the time being, so be mindful of how the game is going which items are most important.

Why wait until level 22 to get Toughness Aura or get Ring of Basilius?

The Ring of Basilius is a great item for Sven after he learns Toughness Aura because it stack with the Devotion Aura. The skill order in this guide recommends getting Toughness Aura at levels 22-25, but Sven will have a full inventory of late game items by the time Ring of Basilius would reach maximum effectiveness. Attribute Bonus is more effective for this item build and strategy, but if you want to get Toughness Aura earlier then you should at least wait until after level 16. Never get Toughness Aura early game, because your creeps will always push close to their tower and you will have a terribly hard time farming. If you decide to get Toughness Aura, then by all means get a Ring of Basilius. The +7 armor will help your team push much harder, because heroes and creeps will be significantly harder to kill.

Why not get Mask of Madness?

Mask of Madness seems to defeat its own purpose, because you are stealing life while taking extra damage at the same time. The movement and attack speed gained while in Frenzy are helpful, but the Satanic gives much more life steal, in addition to 25 strength and 5 armor. The Hyperstone gives slightly less attack speed and no movement speed, but it does not require activation. Ising the Satanic and Hyperstone together is a much better investment for Sven than Mask of Madness.

Why not get Battlefury?

Inexperienced Sven players will usually get a Battlefury, because they want 85% splash damage. The reason a Battlefury is not necessary on Sven is because Critical Strike stacks with Great Cleave. Splashing a lower percentage (50 %) of higher damage (75 x 2.2) yields higher splashed damage than splashing a higher percentage (85 %) of lower damage (+ 55). Burize-do Kyanon is a much better damage item choice for Sven than a Battlefury. Sven also does not need the hit point or mana regeneration, because he has Heart of Tarrasque and Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse.

Why not get Black King Bar?

The Black King Bar used to be one of the items in my recommended build, until the cost started to outweigh the benefits. The Avatar does not last long enough and costs too much mana. In addition you must activate the Avatar before God's Strength otherwise the Avatar will cancel God's Strength. Avatar will not stop heroes from attacking you, in fact it makes you easier to hit because of your increased size. Some heroes can still disable you while you are in Avatar, such as the Net from Naga Siren. The best way for Sven to counter disablers is to become one, in addition to pumping up his strength and damage.

Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse replaced the Black King Bar in this build because of it gives two additional disables. Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse gives increased intelligence and mana regeneration, so Sven never runs out of mana once it is in his inventory. Another reason for dropping the Black King Bar was the addition of a Satanic to this build, because casters and disablers have a hard time killing a 3600 hit point hero with two disables with the potential to deal 1400 damage per swing.

Why not get Ring of Basilius?

The Devotion Aura stacks with Sven's Toughness Aura, so the Ring of Basilius is a great item for Sven after he learns Toughness Aura. The skill order in this guide recommends getting Toughness Aura last, so Sven will have a full inventory by the time Ring of Basilius would reach maximum effectiveness. Never get Toughness Aura early game, because your creeps will always push close to their tower and you will have a hard time farming. If you decide to get Toughness Aura, the do so middle game and by all means get a Ring of Basilius. The +7 armor will help your team push much harder, because heroes and creeps will be harder to kill.

Sven v6.12b noobasaurusREX.w3g

This replay demonstrates 30 minutes of early and middle game strategies such as correct farming and Storm Bolt usage. During the final battle, I used a Dominated Polar Furbolg Ursa Warrior for its War Stomp and Command Aura. Then I killed all five enemy heroes within a few seconds, after which they all left the game. The final item build before all the enemy heroes quit was four Bracers, Power Treads, and Helm of the Dominator.

XII. Author's Notes

This guide is designed for players with little experience playing Sven, so it is comprehensive in nature. The only advice I can offer you is to read the guide thoroughly, especially before posting constructive criticism. This thread is not for people to post their own miniature guides or irrelevant topics, so do not expect me to respond to such posts. There is currently only one replay in the Attachments section, so expect more to come and let me know if you would like me to temporarily post replays from older maps. If you find any misinformation or errors, please send me a Private Message rather than posting in this thread. Thank you for reading and I hope your find the information in this guide useful.

yimingwuzer`s Guide to Ownage with Rikimaru v1.03

Last Edited for Version 6.19b

Introduction to Rikimaru 2.0: No ward = Stealth Assassin more imba

The SA, the first hero I used to attain BEYOND GODLIKE status in DotA on the FIRST game I used him. But it was the 5.84c versions, so that`s questionable. Imbalanced, I mean.

You once called Rikimaru â?˜CHEAPâ? back in the old v5.xx. Not anymore. Death Ward was removed, Permanent Invisibility was nerfed AND turned into his ultimate, Blink became Blink Strike and Critical Strike became Backstab.

WTF My SA

The SA may be a different hero now, and no more a one-trick pony, even I thought Guinsoo made the SA cannon fodder when 6.00 came out, but after toying around with him, I found out one startling fact:

Rikimaru is CHEAPER than before.

â?œ â?œNah, youâ?re kidding me.â?

No, really. You might not be able to get as many kills as before, but the SA is now a much better team hero IMHO. And he can own as much as a Bounty Hunter in the hands of a sadistic butcher, maybe even more. Even one person I took on said the same thing after I butchered him for the tenth time again.

Easy to counter SA. Buy sentry wards. Use Rootfallen. Use Gem.

Donâ?t worry, Iâ?ll cover that in the guide. Itâ?s actually simple to counter all these stuff.

All right, enough trash talking, letâ?s get to business.

Introduction:

Rikimaru, the little Stealth Assassin, is actually a pain in the ass. That is, if youâ?re taking him on. This guide would cover many builds, and strategies to own until your opponents start buying gems and then you loot the gems of them.

Smoke Screen

Throws a smoke bomb down in the area, silencing opponents and causing them to miss on most of their attacks. Also slows by 25% at all levels. Lasts 7 seconds.

Level 1 - 300 AoE, 40% miss. 75 mana cost.

Level 2 - 325 AoE, 50% miss. 85 mana cost.

Level 3 - 350 AoE, 60% miss. 95 mana cost.

Level 4 - 400 AoE, 70% miss. 105 mana cost.

The Stealth Assassinâ?s utility spell, and totally spammable. Used for these purposes:

1. Tower defence. When creeps are hitting the tower, Smoke Screen causes them to miss attacks on the tower, thus reducing damage taken by the tower.

2. Gangbanging. Last time, you drop the Death Ward and wait for your opponents to scurry to safetyâ?¦ into the waiting arms of your allies. Now, you cloud your opponents and they suddenly become unable to cast spells. As they immediately scurry out of the smoke screen, have your allies unload their payload on them while you backstab them nicely. This is how the SA becomes a valuable team hero.

3. Ganking that Phantom Assassin with a Divine Rapier. At the stage where heroes lug around huge damage stuff like Buriza or Stygian, 80% miss is crucial. Even the little Stealth Assassin can hack them to pieces in 7 seconds or they flee. If you have a disabler or stunner with you, itâ?s a free Divine Rapier for you to pick up (if they truly indeed are carrying one).

4. Saving you or your alliesâ? butt. Smoke screen slows down opponents and silences them. Just cast it and run like hell in this case. It buys you 1-2 seconds of getting out of your predicament.

5. Silencing channelling spells. Smoke Screen does a punitive stun effect (similar to the stun duration for Monkey King Bar and the Dwarven Sniperâ?s Headshot). This dispels regeneration buffs as well as spells like Pudgeâ?s Dismember and Crystal Maidenâ?s Freezing Field. You can also silence the Sand King while casting Epicenter if you are fast enough.

6. Getting rid of the Treant Protectorâ?s Eye In The Forest so the fat green guy canâ?t alert his teammates of your presence. Smoke Screen destroys trees.

Always remember when smoking for use #2, hit Smoke Screen not in the middle, but slightly off so it covers the MOST LIKELY route they will take to get out of your cloud to maximize efficiency.

Blink Strike

The Stealth Assassin blink to a target and attacks it, dealing bonus damage. 50 mana cost at all levels.

Level 1 - 30 bonus damage, 30 second cooldown.

Level 2 - 60 bonus damage, 20 second cooldown.

Level 3 - 90 bonus damage, 10 second cooldown.

Level 4 - 120 bonus damage, 5 second cooldown.

Similar in application to the Phantom Assassinâ?s and the Chaos Knightâ?s Blink Strike. In fact, they are exactly the same. Blink Strike counts as a physical damage; therefore your damage bonuses and Backstab deal their respective damage where applicable. Use for:

1. Last hit on heroes. For gold, obviously, and for your ego.

2. To catch up with fleeing enemies. So you can chop them to pieces.

3. To escape from enemies. Blink Strike can target allied creeps but doesnâ?t damage them.

The low mana cost makes it totally spammable once you have at least level 3 Blink Strike.

Backstab

Whenever the Stealth Assassin attacks an enemy from behind, he deals bonus damage based on his Agility.

Level 1 â?“ 0.25* of your Agility.

Level 2 â?“ 0.5* of your Agility.

Level 3 â?“ 0.75* of your Agility.

Level 4 â?“ 1* of your Agility.

This is why getting Agility boosts is more worth it than pure damage, as Backstab ensures you get 2 damage per point of bonus Agility you have. Because this has a 100% chance of backstabbing, it helps you farm the creep waves mid game when not in the action. This also makes killing fleeing heroes an easier task as they have their backs turned on you. Backstab is not an orb effect but a passive, so purchasing attack modifiers work with the SA.

Permanent Invisibility

The Stealth Assassin becomes invisible when not attacking.

Level 1 â?“ 3.5 second fade time.

Level 2 â?“ 2.5 second fade time.

Level 3 â?“ 1.5 second fade time.

I donâ?t think I need to explain why you shouldnâ?t learn this spell, unless youâ?re a total dork. Without this ability the Stealth Assassin lacks his mojo, his signature move and 90% of his usability.

Stat builds:

This build is my primary build; it lends support for your team as without compromising on your killing capability. It also rapes nukers from Level 9 onwards with a nicely placed smoke screen as a solo effort.

Though essentially not ideal, you may also choose to forego the Smoke Screen completely after learning Level 1 but I donâ?t recommend it unless your opponents are of the pushing type (Broodmother, Prophet etc) and not those on my Worst Opponents List.

Items:

I categorized all the item builds according to the signature item. All item builds are deemed complete with the acquisition of The Butterfly, as the SA is horrendous at farming for gold.

The Butterfly is classified as a MUST for the Stealth Assassin. Why? Letâ?s do the math.

The Butterfly - +25% Evasion, +20 damage, +25% attack speed, +25 agility

This is equal to 25% Evasion, +45 damage, +25 Agility, +25 Backstab Damage and +25% attack speed. All together The Butterfly gives you 70 bonus damage if you take the Backstab damage into account. Since the Stealth Assassin relies on backstabbing a lot, getting Agility gives you more damage than pure damage items.

Sange and Yasha: Maiming and Ridiculous Movement Speed

This build makes your move speed similar to good olâ? Balanar at night. Sange provides you with the much needed extra HP and slows down opponents for more backstabbing in the meantime. My favourite of the 4 builds.

Weakness: Your hero is less efficient against strength heroes 1 on 1, due to the low damage output.

+16 Strength

+60 move speed

+65% attack speed

+10% move speed bonus

25% Evasion

+2 HP/sec regeneration

+30 damage

Okay, the main thing here is to exploit the use of the Stealth Assassin as a slow mechanism. Since DotA is shifting to mass slows, it in only right for you to be one! In ganks, fling a smoke screen, then target the healer/disabler first (assuming that's your team's first target), and beat the shit out of them. In pubs, this makes blinkers unable to run away from you, and windwalkers too if you have gem.

Diffusal Blade: Purging the Weak with Purge, and Confusing With Manta Style.

Basically this build slows down your opponents so you can mincemeat them nicely. Diffusal Blade is a charged item, so it must be used wisely for a 100% guaranteed kill when hunting and as a last resort when fleeing by slowing down your pursuers. Otherwise, it is similar to the first build. Manta Style gives reasonable Feedback and makes you harder to target when ganking with images.

Weakness: Until you get Manta Style you can't take on many heroes up. This build is heavly reliant on teamwork, so it's unsuitable for pubs.

Ring of Regeneration (375)

Boots of Speed (500)

Blade of Alacrity (1000)

Robe of the Magi (450)

Manta Style recipe (1400)

Eagle Horn (3450)

Quarterstaff (1150)

The Butterfly recipe (1400)

Total cost: 13405 gold.

Item bonuses:

36 damage Feedback

+35 Agility

+60 move speed

+55% attack speed

25% Evasion

+2 HP/sec regeneration

+6 Intelligence

+250 HP

Ability to create illusions

+20 damage

This build is going to exploit the use of the 'imba' purge, and the 'imba' mass feedback mantas. Most people fail to recognise the danger of having manta, even if you're not an illusion generator like the Phantom Lancer or Naga Siren. Still, it's potent. Mid game, you won't havs Sange. You have Purge. Make Sven, Syllabear and Magnus cry when they get their fighting buffs wiped out. Later on, when your opponents have gem, show up with images. 3 invisible buttkickers which bleach 36 mana per hit, plus your already innate fast attack makes this an enjoyment stealing gems. And, of course in ganks you'd never know who's who until you blinkstrike, and then your opponents have no chance to stop the gank.

Mask of Madness: Driving Yourself Insane With Frenzy

Note: Not recommended for beginners to the SA.

This item build focuses on you achieving fast kills but be careful of your targets. The SA is very fragile when using this build.

Weakness: 80% a pub build, due to lack of team-helping tools.

Gloves of Haste (610)

Power Treads recipe (420)

Mask of Death (900)

Item bonuses:

10% lifesteal

+35 Agility

+60 move speed

+55% attack speed

+5% move speed bonus

25% Evasion

+50 damage

+3 Strength

15% chance to Bash

Frenzy ability]

After this you can get mass Agility boosters eg. Blades of Alacrity, Wraith Bands etc.

Now, now I'm going to expect a lot of slamming for equipping the SA with a mask of madness, that many dub as the most useless item in DotA. They're wrong. Life leech helps keep you in one piece while farming creeps, and when your enemy starts to run, hit Frenzy. He's not going to turn round and kill you, so butcher to your heart's content.

Stygian Desolator: Spreading the Corruption

This item build focuses on you achieving fast kills like the build above but puts limited use of Backstab. Technically, this build might not be worth the money, but its potential is there.

Originally removed from the guide due to price inefficiency, but readded due to feedback from Negi and SpawnOfLucifer.

Weakness: This isn't the 84c deso, nerfs have made it fall some way back. You need more reliance n Blink Strike so bkb makes it hard for chasing.

Total cost: 12705 gold.

Item bonuses:

Corruption Attack

+25 Agility

+60 move speed

+55% attack speed

25% Evasion

+75 damage

After this get mass Agility boosters eg. Blades of Alacrity, Wraith Bands etc.

Stygian, nerfed in v6, makes the SA look funny wielding it especially when it has no synergy with Backstab, right? Wrong. Deso has always been the butcher's stick to kill, and with it, less hits are needed to pawn. Armour drain makes the enemy die faster n ganks.

Items worth considering after achieving The Butterfly:

Blades of Attack (650)

Broadsword (1200)

Crystalys recipe (1000)

Demon Edge (2600)

Buriza do Kyanon recipe (700)

(Sell Power Treads)

Boots of Speed (500)

Boots of Travel recipe (2200}

Ultimate Orb (2300)

Ultimate Orb (2300)

Point Booster (1200)

Eye of Skadi recipe (1250)

Mithril Hammer (1610)

Gauntlets of Ogre Strength (150)

Cranium Basher recipe (1460)

These 4 items are merely suggestions, as they work well with the SA but are not suitable as a primary item to get due to high cost or low value for money rate.

If you still havenâ?t finished the game, you must have been dragging your feet. I donâ?t think I need to explain what to get if you still havenâ?t done yetâ?¦

Items NOT to buy:

Other orb effects: Most orb effects donâ?t stack. I think thereâ?s a table listing what does and doesnâ?t under the Newbie Questions sub forum, check there first.

Aura items: They give your location away. This includes Radiance, Ring of Bassilus, Headdress of Rejuvenation etc.

Questionable starting items:

Wraith Band â?“ pretty expensive as a first item to buy. I recommend not purchasing this early game but later on as stat boosters if you are going for mass Agility.

Linkenâ?s Sphere â?“ though excellent against CM (because they always frostbite you first and wonâ?t notice till itâ?s too late) and stunners (to disentangle their stun) it is rather pricey.

Strategy:

Early game:

Go out on any lane, preferably with a ranged partner (or solo bottom lane[sentinel, top lane for scourge]in pubbies). About the only thing you can do now is leech experience off the creep casualties. Do the melee dance but beware of nukers and stunners as they can put you down quickly. Remember when and how to use Smoke Screen. Use Blink Strike for the last hit on enemy heroes if they go too low on HP. If you are alone (which should ONLY happen in a pub and nowhere else) you might not be able to get gold from creeps at all (if there are two enemies on the lane, and are good at nuking/harassing). Make sure you have at least 1000 gold by the time you learn Permanent Invisibility (for more decent players and capable of last hits easily 1500), then take a shopping trip. If you have to take a fountain trip here and you are on the Diffusal Blade or Mask of Madness build, load up on Flasks of Sapphire Water.

Mid game:

Now this is when the fun begins. No one can spot you while invisible, so feel free to hang around behind unsuspecting heroes before going for the kill in gangbangs. Drop a Smoke Screen on the victim, then backstab a lot, and spam Blink Strike on them till they die. If you have an ally as support for you in case something goes wrong, all the better. Help allies do the same by using Smoke Screen to settle battles to cause the enemy to flee. You WANT your enemies to run, for then you can backstab them with impunity. You can have a free rein on any lane though this would set you back on gold. You might not be always doing the last hit on a hero, but DO NOT try to KS your allies, it makes them pissed off. Somewhere at this stage one person might buy wards or gems. DO NOT fear Observer Wards, they do not have True Sight. Sentry Wards can be detected when you see a hero lugging those cursed magic eyes with them. Walk out on certain lanes when thereâ?s no one in sight, then if the creep wave targets you youâ?ll know a ward has been placed. Avoid those areas then UNLESS a gangbang is in place and your help is needed. If a hero lugs a gem, do not worry. GANGBANG him, have all your allies gather to loot him of his precious True Sight, before carrying it away to either destroy it or spy on their invisible heroes.

Late game:

By this stage you should have roughly 6 kills on an average game, both in pubs or ih. Now your opponents will be lugging Gems around in fear of you (if you did well) or not (if they underestimate you). If it is the former case, repeat the above procedures as you would in mid game. If it is the latter, then they are making it easy for you. With The Butterfly, it should be no problem soloing most heroes and you can push towers and raxes alone while your allies keep the opponent busy. Whatever it is, what you did mid game is easy stuff for you to do now.

Best Allies:

Treant Protector â?“ makes hunting sentry wards easier with Eye in the Forest.

Disablers eg. Shadow Shaman â?“ Eases the kill for you.

Nukers â?“ to whittle down your opponentsâ? health for your magic touch.

Sniper: Just in case your Blink Strike fails to kill.

Dangerous Opponents:

Juggernaut, Moon Rider â?“ their ultimates kill you in any 1 on 1 situation.

Soul Keeper, Phantom Lancer, Naga Siren â?“ their illusions can gank you due to you not knowing which one is real. This is especially so for Naga Siren, as even a close observation of her wonâ?t tell you which one is a fake until the images enter a thick battle.

Tanking heroes â?“ the Stealth Assassin lacks a high damage output ability to take them head on unlike the Phantom Assassin or Ursa Warrior, for they can turn around and face you in combat thus negating Backstab.

Bristleback â?“ Your Worst Enemy. Rigwarlâ?s Quill Spray harasses you a lot to prevent you from farming early game, Warpath makes it hard for you to fight him alone, plus your backstabbing attacks are negated by his passive due to its huge normal damage reduction. Avoid at all costs unless the user is a noob or when ganking him.

Faceless Void â?“ Chronosphere turns you into a free kill for Darkterror by freezing you for 6 seconds. Plus, he has Bash (the replacement for it still looks the same to me) that makes him dangerous in a 1 on 1 situation once he has a lot of attack speed bonuses.

Slithereen Guard â?“ Slardarâ?s Amplify Damage reveals you when invisible.

Bounty Hunter â?“ Gondarâ?s Track is similar to Slardarâ?s Amplify Damage.

Spiritbreaker â?“ Barathrumâ?s Charge of Darkness reveals you. Pull back to a place with cover.

Favourite Opponents:

Spell casters without disables â?“ most of them become cannon fodder for you mid game onwards.

Ending Words:

Go and kick ass with Rikimaru NOW. â?˜Nuff said.

Screenshots and replays will take time, hopefully theyâ?ll come.

Please point out any typo errors in the guide, or wrong numbers.
