OK.. so I navigated through a lot of Cyrillic to get here, so I'd better make this count! I'll give my tuppence worth of opinion on each of the pictures in order, if I may.. and I'll be as honest as I possibly can be http://forum.academ.org/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) 1) This is potentially a lovely photo, of a beautiful scene. Reminds me of England! It just needs a few more trees! The only thing that puts me off it, just a touch, and would prevent it getting onto my calender is that it seems to be at a very slight slant. The sea level seems to be tilting down a bit, towards the lower left. All in all, however, I love the view depicted here. 2) I'm less sure that I like this one. Positive points have to be the background, with that dreamy, watercolour blend of pinks and blues. But, the trees kind of obscure everything. The one in the middle, and the branch in the top left. So, while it's a decent photo, it's not one of my favourites. 3) This is more like it! I like this one... a lovely view of the sun on the water. I like it. If I had to be critical of it, I would only say that the landmass appears too dark. I don't see how you can avoid that, staring into the sun like that, but then I don't know much about cameras! It just seems to distract from the beauty of everything else! Nice photo. 4) I do like this one... I think the colours are beautiful, and the grass looks like somewhere I'd like to roll around! Certainly a place I'd like to have visited http://forum.academ.org/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) To be perfect, it would have to be without those people... but, what can you do? Anyway... I like it. 5) I've no complaints about this one, except that maybe the tree would look better if it wasn't a little bit clipped on the left hand edge. But, while it is an interesting tree, it doesn't really excite me too much. It's fine, but not my cup of tea 6) This one is my favourite. I think it's lovely. I like the way the white rock is pretty much central in the shot, as it should be. The focal point, as it were. An interesting view to look at, full of crisp colours. Again, the horizon is very slightly tilted, but even so - the best of the bunch. Great. 7) This one is OK, but seems a bit too gloomy to be a happy photo, and too bright to be a depressing photo.. do you know what i mean? It kind of falls between two stools, I think. Perhaps it would look nicer snipped 1/3 of the way up? Such that you only see the stormy waters and the cliffs? That's my useless opinion here, anyway http://forum.academ.org/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) 8) Hmm... well, I'm no big fan of horses. And I can't quite see what these particular specimens are up to! I'm not quite sure of this one, simply because I can't see what's happening. Does that make sense? 9) Potentially a nice wee photo, let down a bit by the contrast... it's too gloomy, I think. But, in better light, it would have made a nice shot. 10) My favourite of the horse photos http://forum.academ.org/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) Is the brown one the grey one's foal? Is that possible? ;o) The light is better here, and the landscape is interesting to look at. Maybe it's a bit too "busy" with too many things cluttering up the foreground? On the whole, though, I think that this one evokes more of a sense of place than the other two like it: more atmosphere. Anyway.. hope that was useful to you! My misguided, unprofessional opinion! See you around!
